Islamabad; April 1, 2014: Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker and Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly have congratulated the newly elected office bearers of All Pakistan News Society (APNS).

In their separate messages to the newly elected President Mr. Hameed Haroon, Senior Vice President Mr. Jamil Ather, Vice President Mr. Umar Mujib Shami, Secretary General Sarmad Ali and other office bearers, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker extended their warmest felicitation on their success. They said that their election was an evidence of trust and confidence of Journalist Community reposed in them.

The Speaker and Deputy Speaker said that freedom of expression was essential for strengthening democracy in the country and free and independent media serve the interest of the people by acting an impartial critic of government policies.

The Speaker and Deputy Speaker expressed the hope that the newly elected body of the society will work for welfare of Journalist Community and freedom of press in the country and the congenial relations between Government and Press will further enhanced.
