Islamabad; November 9, 2021: Deputy Speaker, National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri has said that Pakistan values high its close brotherly relations with Azerbaijan which are based on historic, cultural and religious bonds, respect and mutual understanding. He expressed these views while addressing an event organized by National Assembly to commemorate the 1st anniversary of Patriotic War Victory of Azerbaijan in Parliament House, Islamabad.
While congratulating Azerbaijan on victory in patriotic war, he said that the victory by the brave armed forces of Azerbaijan under the visionary leadership of President Ilham is indeed unprecedented in the modern history of warfare. He said that liberation of occupied territories through determination and perseverance of armed forces of Azerbaijan and collective will of the people was not easy task. He paid homage to the martyrs of Patriotic War of the Republic of Azerbaijan who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the good of their nation and country.
Deputy Speaker said that People-to-People contacts between the two countries are vital for strengthening relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He said that Pak-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group can play a vital role to further enhance cooperation and coordination between both the countries.

He appreciated the unequivocal stance of Azerbaijan on the issue of Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He remarked that the peace of the region is depend upon peaceful resolution of IIOJK as per the aspiration of the people of IIOJK and resolutions of United Nations Security Council.
While talking about Pakistan-Turkey relations, Deputy Speaker said Turkey has always supported Pakistan stance on every forum. He further said that the parliaments of Pakistan  Azerbaijan and Turkey are committed to play a positive role for peace and development in the region and enhance cooperation in diverse fields of common interests.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan while appreciating Pakistan's support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity said that Azerbaijan values high its ties with Pakistan and is looking forward to further enhance bilateral ties.

The Ambassador of Turkey appreciated Pakistan's role for regional connectivity and peace.

Event was attended by Member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Mahir Abbaszade, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Convener of Pakistan-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group Murtaza Javed Abbasi and members Pak-Azerbaijan PFG.
