Islamabad:- 8th meeting of the Standing Committee on Commerce and Textile was held today at 2:00 p.m. in Constitution Room, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Hon. Syed Naveed Qamar.

2.        After recitation from the Holy Quran, the Committee decided to proceed with the agenda.

3.        The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 16th August 2019.

4.        The Secretary Commerce and Textile briefed the Committee on structural changes required to ensure effective role of the Pakistan Embassies abroad to promote the Trade, Economic and Investment Partnership between Pakistan and the other countries having Pakistan embassies/Missions abroad. Also He briefed the committee on steps taken to ensure that Pakistan continue to benefit from GSP plus Status.

5.        The meeting was attended by MNAs Syed Javed Ali Shah Jilani, Ms Wajiha Akram, Mr. Ali khan Jadoon, Mr. Yaqoob Sheikh, Mr. Raza Nasrullah, Mr. Khurum Shehzad, Ms. Sajida Begum, Mrs. Farukh Khan,Mr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan and Mr. Usman Ibrahim, The meeting was also attended by Secretary Commerce, and senior officers of the Ministry Commerce.
