Islamabad, 20th March, 2019; 9th meeting of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice was held today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Riaz Fatyana, MNA.

2.    The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Before proceeding with the agenda the committee showed its displeasure due to non-availability of the Minister concerned. It was also observed by the committee that since the inception of the committee the Minister has attended only one meeting of the committee. Before proceeding further the committee showed its grief and condolence to the families of persons passed away the Nigerian attacks. The committee observed silence for one minute in solidarity to the effected families. Then, the Committee decided to proceed with the agenda.

3.    The Committee was briefed by the Secretary Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan about the Performance, service structure and sanctioned strength of the commission. The reports of the commission published in various times were also presented before the committee for consideration. The committee appreciated the Commission for its performance and presentation. The rest of agenda items mentioned in the notice was deferred due to paucity of the time.

6.    Hon. Members/MNAs/Movers Mr. Atta Ullah, Mr. Muhammad Farooq Azam Malik,Malik Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, Agha Hassan Baloch, Mr. Sher Ali Arbab, Ms. Shunila Ruth, Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Ch. Mehmood Bashir Virk, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Syed Hussain Tariq, Ms. Aliya Kamran,Ms Nafisa Shah, attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Law and Justice, and Secretary Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan, with their staff.
