Islamabad: May 13, 2018; Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi have congratulated Mr. Arif Nizami and Dr. Jabbar Khattak on their election as President and General Secretary of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), respectively.

In their separate congratulatory messages to Mr. Arif Nizami and Dr. Jabbar Khattak, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker said that their election to the office of President and Secretary General of the CPNE is an evidence of trust and confidence of the members of the General Council and their fraternity reposed in them.

They expressed the hope that newspapers and publication industry will progress under their guidance and would guide the Government to improve governance and formulate pro-people policies. They said that under the guidance of newly elected office bearers, the print media continue playing its role for creating harmony, tolerance and eliminating extremism and terrorism from the country.
