Islamabad, 14th February, 2017: A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was held today at 2:00 p.m in Committee Room No. 2, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary, MNA.
 

1.         FOREIGN OFFICER TO CALL THE HIGH-UPS OF AMERICAN EMBASSY
On the Question of Privileges raised by Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, MNA regarding not allowing the Hon. Member to depart for Canada, the Committee directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to call the high-ups of American Embassy and record its protest and report to the Committee within thirty days.  
 

2.            CDA TO GIVE REPORT ON THOSE LIVING IN SERVANT QUARTERS OF PARLIAMENT LODGES
On the issue of CDA matters pertaining to allotment of new and old servant quarters, Fire incident in “D” Block, and issues of maintenance in Parliament Lodges, Islamabad, the Committee pended the issue with the directed to CDA to give a detailed report to the Committee on those living in the servant quarters of Parliament Lodges. The Committee also directed the CDA to give detailed report on the funds released to CDA pertaining to the maintenance of Parliament Lodges.
 

3.             CONSTITUTIONAL OF INTER-DEPARTMENTAL COMMITTEE TO PROBE INTO THE QUESTION OF PRIVILEGE OF  CH. ABID RAZA, MNA
On the issue of Question of Privilege raised by Ch. Abid Raza Raza, MNA regarding stopping of Hon. Member to travel abroad by an official at Allama Iqbal Airport, Lahore, despite having valid passport and ticket, the Committee expressed its displeasure on the reply given by the concerned and constituted an Interdepartmental Committee (IDC) comprising the Secretary Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control and Secretary Aviation Division to probe into the matter and report to the Committee within fifteen days.
 

4.            The Committee pended the Question of Privilege of Mr. Ramesh Lal, MNA, Briefing by Inspector General of Police, Islamabad regarding security problems/issues faced by the Hon. Parliamentarians in Parliament Lodges, Islamabad. The Committee disposed of the issue of Medical facilities provided to the Hon. Parliamentarians in Parliament Lodges with the direction to Drug Regularity Authority Pakistan, to get test of all the medicines available in the dispensary of Parliament Lodges with a report to the Committee within fifteen days.
 

5.            The Committee also disposed of the Questions of Privilege raised by Dr. Mahreen Raqaque Bhutto, MNA against Mr. Fayyaz Abbasi, DCO, Khairpur and the Question of Privilege of Mr. Nazir Khan, MNA against Mr. Zafar Islam, Political Agent, South Waziristan Agency and Assitant Political Agent South Waziristan (Tank).   
 

6.         The Committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 3-1-2017.
 

7.            The meeting was attended by Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk, Rana Umer Nazir Khan, Mr.Muhammad Raza Hayyat Harraj, Mr. Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari, Mr. Azhar Qayyum Nahra, Mr. Abdul Majid Khan Khanan Khail, Mr.Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Maiza Hameed, Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur, Ms.Shagufta Jumani, Mr. Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Mr. S.A Iqbal Quadri and Mr. Muhammad Ali Rashid MNAs/Members. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Dr. Mahreen Razaque Bhutto, Mr. Nazir Khan and Ch. Abid Raza, MNAs/Movers.
