A meeting of the Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination held today in the Committee Room of M/o National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, G-5/2, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA, to consider HIV/AIDS (Safety and Control) Bill, 2013 (moved by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, MNA), The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, 2016 (moved by Dr. Fouzia Hameed, MNA) and The medical consultancy and other services (rationalization of fees) Bill, 2016 (moved by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA).  

2.        The Committee considered the medical consultancy and other services (rationalization of fees) Bill, 2016 (moved by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA) in detail. The Mover was of the view that the consultancy by the private medical practitioners and other medical services all over the country were becoming out of the reach of the common people and need to be rationalized. The Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination appreciated the objectives of the Bill and informed that the identical bill was drafted by the Ministry and was in the process of approval. Therefore, the Committee decided that the said Bill might not be processed for further legislation.

3.        The Committee also considered the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, 2016 (moved by Dr. Fouzia Hameed, MNA) in detail. The Ministry assured the Committee that the amendments moved by the honourable Member will be incorporated in the Schedule of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Bill, 2012 as it was in the ambit of the Ministry to amend the Schedules according to the requirements.

Dr. Fouzia Hameed, MNA/Mover of the Bill also attended the meeting.
