The meeting of the Standing Committee on Communications held today in the Committee room of Postal Staff College, Sector G-8/4, Islamabad, under the Acting Chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, MNA, to consider the Pakistan Private Courier Regulatory Authority Bill, 2015 (Moved by Ms. Belum Hasnain, MNA) and the Post Office (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

2. The Committee unanimously recommended to approve the Post Office (Amendment) Bill, 2016 with the object to provide for the issuance of postal orders having their value more than fifty rupees for the use and benefit of general public.

3. The Committee considered the Pakistan Private Courier Regulatory Authority Bill, 2015 (Moved by Ms. Belum Hasnain, MNA) in detail and recommended to involve all stakeholder in the process of legislation. Therefore the Bill was deferred.

4.   The Committee took notice of the increase in the accidents on the M-9 Motorway and directed to take measures to control the accidents on the diversion area of M-9 project.     

5.  MNAs Mir Shabbir Ali Bijrani, Dr. Darshan, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Bughio, Mr. Ramesh Lal and Mr. Salim Rehman, attended the meeting.
