The Standing Committee on Law and Justice met today under the Chairmanship of Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk, MNA in the Parliament House, Islamabad.

Dr. Arif Alvi, MNA moved the resolution against the founder of MQM regarding passing the untoward remarks against the sovereignty of Pakistan. The Committee unanimously passed the resolution and condemned the remarks. The Committee recommended that the Government of Pakistan should forward plea to the UK Government against him.

The Committee considered the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2015 {Amendment of Order XVII rule 1 of 1908} (moved by Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, MNA), the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2015 {Substitution of Section 89-A} (moved by Dr. Arif Alvi, MNA), the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2015 {Amendment of Section 33} (moved by Mr. Sher Akber Khan, MNA), the constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2015 {Amendment of Article 175 of the constitution} (moved by Ms. Shahida Akhtar Ali, MNA) and the constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2015 {Insertion of new Article-19-B in the constitution } (moved by Ms. Munaza Hassan, MNA) in detail.

The meeting was attended by MNAs Justice (Retd.)
