NA Standing Committee on Defence Meets

Islamabad, 14th July, 2016: A meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence met today in Committee Room No.2, 1st Floor, Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Shaikh Rohale Asghar, MNA. The Committee discussed the issue of land situated in the middle of Toba Tek Singh city allotted to Army Remount to Stud Grantees situated in Chak No.239/JB, Tehsil & District Toba Tek Singh in detail. Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, MNA  a member from the said area while briefing the Committee on the issue in question informed that the land measuring 929A-6K-17M (Situated in chak No 329/JB) was allotted to Army remount to Stud Grantees which has become a big problem in extending the city of Toba Tek Singh and provision of offices to the civil administration. He was of the view that a state land measuring 1457A-3K-08M is available in Mauza plot-D in tehsil Pirmahal, District Toba Tek Singh adjacent to Rafiquee Air base within Cantt Board limits may be allotted to Stud Grantees in lieu of that land. After detailed discussion, The Committee recommended to the Ministry of Defence that the land measuring 929A-6K-17M (Situated in chak No 329/JB) was allotted to Army remount to Stud Grantees may be allotted to the District Government of Toba Tek Singh in lieu of the proposed alternate land offered by the Punjab government for extension of Toba Tek Singh city and catering the requirement of offices of District Administration. The Committee condemned in strong words the recent massacre and atrocities of innocent Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir by the Indian forces and demanded from the International Community and UN Security Council to take notice of human rights violation in occupied Kashmir.

2.         The meeting was also attended by Ms. Surriya Asghar, Sardar Muhammad Shafqat Hayat Khan, Lt. Col. (Retd) Ghulam Rasul Sahi, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Khan Manais, Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Mr. Nawab Ali Wassan, Dr. Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari, Mr. Sanjay Perwani and Ms. Kishwer Zehra MNAs and Officers/Officials of the Ministry.
