No Parallel of Pak-China Relations: Speaker NA

Islamabad, April 5th, 2016: The Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pak-China relations have no parallel in international relations. Based on shared geopolitical, economic, historical and strategic interest, Pak-China relations have always stood the test of time, he added. He was speaking to member of the Central Committee Political Bureau of Communist Party of China (CPC) and Party Secretary of CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, Mr. Zhang Chunxian who called on him at Parliament House, Islamabad on Tuesday. Ambassador of China in Pakistan Mr. Sun Weidong was also present.

The Speaker reiterated that the historic Pak-China relations have entered a new phase of unprecedented cooperation. He termed this alliance of two friends as highly imperative for responding to regional and global challenges. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that Pakistan confidently counts on its ‘time-tested’ friend China at various multilateral forums and added that the two friends have shared perspective on regional issues.

Referring to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Speaker remarked that the joint initiative heralds a new age of prosperity for Pakistan as well as the entire region. On behalf of members of Pakistan’s Parliament, he thanked the Chinese government for enabling Pakistan’s Parliament as first in the world to be completely powered by Solar Energy. He outlined that Pakistan and China have embarked upon joint initiatives to restrain Pakistan’s energy crisis.

Mr. Zhang Chunxian asserted that Pakistan has an unrivalled importance in China’s strategic calculations and added that the leadership of both countries have demonstrated an unflinching resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations. He reiterated that a vibrant Pak-China cooperation is central for tackling challenges in the region and beyond.

Mr. Zhang Chunxian highlighted that China is highly committed to assist Pakistan in genuine economic development. He remarked that China will continue to assist Pakistan in technology, infrastructure development and exploration of renewable energy resources. Expressing his confidence in Pak-China relations, he reiterated that Pak-China relations will always stand the test of time.
