NA Business Advisory Committee Meets

Islamabad; June 8, 2015: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq chaired a meeting of the House Business Advisory Committee in Parliament House, this afternoon to discuss the business for the 23rd (Budget) Session of the National Assembly.
 
After discussion and taking into account suggestions by representative of the political parties in the National Assembly, it was decided that general discussion on the Budget will continue till 19th June, 2015 and Minister for Finance will wind up the general discussion on Budget 2015-2016 followed by discussion on appropriation in respect of charged expenditure 2015-2016. It was decided that the discussion and voting on cut motions and demand for grants in respected of voted expenditure 2015-2016 would be taken up on 22nd and 23rd June, 2015. It was further decided that the consideration and passage of Finance Bill, 2015 and discussion on supplementary demands for grants and appropriation 2014-2015 in respect of charged and voted expenditure and laying of schedule of authorized expenditure 2015-2016 would take place on 24th and 25th June, 2015, respectively.
 
It was also agreed that the sittings of the National Assembly will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Mondays and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with a break of half an hour for Zuhr prayers on rest of the days. The Committee was informed that the question hour and other non-legislative business will remain suspended during the Budget Session.
 
The meeting was attended by Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Defence Production, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs/Chief Whip of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), MNAs; Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Ms. Shaista Pervez, Syed Naveed Qamar, Mr. Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Dr. Arif Alvi, Mr. Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Sheikh Salahuddin and Dr. Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari.
