NA Speaker to Inaugurate 1st International Conference of Parliamentarians of Pakistan Origin on 23rd March, 2015

Islamabad March 22, 2015: National Assembly of Pakistan will be hosting 1st International Conference of Parliamentarians of Pakistan Origin being held on 23rd March, 2015 in Parliament House, Islamabad. The theme of the conference would be “Celebrating the Common Heritage: Democracy”.

 Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will inaugurate the Conference. Parliamentarians of Pakistani Origin elected to the legislatures around the world and Members of the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan have been invited to attend the conference.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq taking the initiative invited the Parliamentarians of Pakistani Origin to join hands to project the democratic credentials of our common heritage and honour of all those individuals who were serving anywhere in the world as people’s representatives.  The Speaker was of the view that the Parliamentarians could serve as a bridge between the East and the West portraying the true image of peaceful, democratic and progressive Pakistan.

The distinguished Parliamentarians of Pakistani origin besides participating in the Conference will also witness Pakistan Day Parade and attend other state functions being held in connection with Pakistan Day.

The Parliamentarians participating in the conference are Member Canadian Senate Senator Salma Ataullah Jan, Member Norwegian Parliament Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, Member Welsh National Assembly (UK) Mr. Mohammad Asghar, Member Provincial Parliament of Etobicoke (Canada) Mr. Shafiq Qadri, Member europen Parliament Mr. Sajjad Karim, Member Parliament of Brussels Capital Region (Belgium) Dr. Manzoor Zahoor Ellahi, Member Parliament of Kenya Mr. Shakeel Shabbir Ahmad, and Dr. Ashraf Choudhary, former Member of House of Representatives of New Zealand.
