Close Cooperation between National Assembly of Pakistan and Represetnatives Council of Bahrain to add substance to Bilateral Relations: Says NA Speaker

Islamabad: September 21, 2014; Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on Speaker Representatives Council of Bahrain (Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani), according to a message received from Bahrain. During the meeting, both the Speakers exchanged cordial talks and discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two brotherly countries and ways of strengthening relations.
 
 
Referring to the immemorial brotherly ties with Pakistan and Bahrain, the Speaker said that both the countries enjoy close fraternal relations, pointing out that the two countries stood by each other in testing times. "Close and frequent contacts at the highest level have been the hallmark of these relations," he added. The Speaker said that close cooperation between the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Representatives Council of Bahrain would add substance to bilateral relations.
 
Reciprocating to the remarks of Speaker National Assembly, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani said that Bahrain attaches immense importance to its relations with Pakistan and wants to further diversify them through enhancing parliamentary contacts. He said that Pakistani and Bahraini parliamentarians have a lot to learn from each other's experience and for this purpose closer cooperation and greater parliamentary interaction is needed. He said that Bahrain would always stand by its Pakistani brethren whenever needed.
 
Earlier Pakistani delegation was welcomed at Bahrain International Airport by Representatives Council Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, First Deputy Speaker and Head of the Mission of Honour MP Abdullah bin Khalaf Al Dousari, MPs Ahmed Qarata, Ali Zayed, Abdulrahman Bumjid and senior officials.
 
Later on addressing to the Pakistani community in Bahrain, the Speaker said that Pakistani community residing in Bahrain served as a bridge between the two countries and had played a positive role in the development of Bahrain as well as contributed to Pakistan’s economy.
 
He said that democracy is the best solution to our problems because democracy promotes dignity and fundamental rights of individuals, social justice and creates enabling environment for international peace and reconciliation. He reiterated that the commitment of the Parliament, the Government and people of Pakistan to fight and defeat terrorism and extremism as well as help in building an environment of peace and stability for the prosperity of the people of Pakistan and the region.
