Islamabad; August 8, 2014: The House Business Advisory Committee of the National Assembly met in Parliament House, this morning with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair to discuss further business to be taken up and duration of the current session of the National Assembly.

After discussion, it was unanimously decided to extend the duration of the current Session of the National Assembly till 22nd August, 2014. It was also decided that the Session will be adjourned on 12th August, 2014 and resume on 18th August, 2014. It was agreed that National Assembly would take up question hour, calling attention notices and continue its discussion on the address of the President of Pakistan to both Houses assembled together on 2nd June, 2014 apart from other legislative business during the current session.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Zahid Hamid, Minister for Science & Technology, Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, MNAs; Mr. Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Dr. Arif Alvi, Mr. Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Sheikh Salahuddin and Syed Ghazi Gulab Jamal. Mrs. Shahida Akthar Ali and Mr. Sher Akbar Khan represented their respective parties in the meeting.
