Afghanistan Has Become a Hub of Terrorism”: NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq
Islamabad, : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pakistan has been grappling with the menace of terrorism, as neighbouring Afghanistan has become a hub of terrorism in the region. He said that sophisticated weapons left behind by NATO forces in Afghanistan were being used against innocent Pakistani citizens and the country’s security forces. He said that Pakistan had demonstrated considerable restraint in response to recent Indian aggression. The Speaker expressed these views during a meeting with the European Parliamentary delegation led by Ms. Mary Khan, Member of the European Parliament, at Parliament House, Islamabad, .
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the European Union and its member states. He expressed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen parliamentary relations with the European Union and proposed the establishment of a Pakistan-European Union Parliamentary Friendship Group. He said enhanced parliamentary contacts would provide opportunities for exchanging experiences, information and best practices between the two sides.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also said that terrorism emanating from Afghan territory remains a major challenge for Pakistan. He recalled that Pakistan had hosted Afghan refugees for four decades and reiterated that Pakistan desired peace and stability in the region. He said that Pakistan wanted regional disputes to be resolved peacefully through dialogue and engagement.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has also said that Pakistan had demonstrated restraint in response to unprovoked Indian aggression and played a responsible role for regional peace and stability. He said Pakistan remains committed to peaceful resolution of Kashmir.
NA Speaker said that the world appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for promoting global peace, dialogue and stability.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said although Pakistan contributes less than 1 percent in ghg emissions yet Pakistan was severely affected by the adverse impacts of climate change, which emerged as a major challenge for the country. He urged the international community to play its role in addressing climate-related challenges.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also said that Pakistan’s Parliament is the world 1st green Parliament. He said that the use of solar energy in Parliament is an environment-friendly initiative and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable and green development.
NA Speaker said that the Women Parliamentary Caucus is playing an active role in protecting and promoting the rights of women. He added that the Parliamentary Cacus on Child Rights, SDGs Secretariat and Young Parliamentarians Forum of the National Assembly are also playing an active role for the betterment and welfare of the people of Pakistan.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that minorities in Pakistan enjoyed freedom and constitutional rights. He appreciated the role of minority parliamentarians in the Parliament and said that all relevant institutions of the state are working for the protection of minority rights.
NA Speaker reiterated that Pakistan desires to further enhance parliamentary cooperation with the European Union. He said that stronger parliamentary linkages would help promote mutual understanding, exchange of experiences and closer relations between Pakistan and EU member states.
The members of the European Parliamentary delegation appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region. They said that Pakistan was a geographically important country and said that the European Union highly values its relations with Pakistan.
The delegation members described the Pakistani nation as resilient and peace-loving and expressed their appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and stability. They also thanked Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the delegation.
The European Parliamentary delegation included Mr. Dennis Hohloch, Mr. Stanislav Stoyanov, Mr. Tomasz Froelich, Mr. Dan Paddock and Mr. Moses.

اسلام آباد: 23 ستمبر 2026: اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا ہے کہ ہمارا ہمسایہ ملک افغانستان اس وقت دہشت گردوں کی آماجگاہ بن چکا ہے، جس کی وجہ سے پاکستان بدترین دہشت گردی کا سامنا کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ افغانستان میں نیٹو افواج کی جانب سے چھوڑے گئے جدید ترین ہتھیار معصوم پاکستانی شہریوں اور سکیورٹی فورسز کے خلاف استعمال کیے جا رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان نے حالیہ بھارتی جارحیت کے جواب میں بھرپور تحمل کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ انہوں نے ان خیالات کا اظہار آج پارلیمنٹ ہاؤس اسلام آباد میں یورپی پارلیمنٹ کی رکن محترمہ میری خان کی قیادت میں آنے والے یورپی پارلیمانی وفد سے ملاقات کے دوران کیا۔
اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان یورپی یونین اور اس کے رکن ممالک کے ساتھ اپنے تعلقات کو انتہائی اہمیت دیتا ہے۔ انہوں نے یورپی یونین کے ساتھ پارلیمانی تعلقات کو مزید مستحکم کرنے کی خواہش کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے پاکستان-یورپی یونین پارلیمانی فرینڈشپ گروپ کے قیام کی تجویز پیش کی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پارلیمانی روابط میں اضافے سے دونوں جانب تجربات، معلومات اور بہترین طریقہ ہائے کار کے تبادلے کے مواقع پیدا ہوں گے۔ اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ افغان سرزمین سے ہونے والی دہشت گردی پاکستان کے لیے ایک بڑا چیلنج ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان نے چار دہائیوں تک افغان مہاجرین کی میزبانی کی اور اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ پاکستان خطے میں امن و استحکام کا خواہاں ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان چاہتا ہے کہ علاقائی تنازعات کو مذاکرات اور باہمی روابط کے ذریعے پرامن انداز میں حل کیا جائے۔
اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان نے بلااشتعال بھارتی جارحیت کے جواب میں تحمل کا مظاہرہ کیا اور خطے میں امن و استحکام کے لیے ذمہ دارانہ کردار ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان مسئلہ کشمیر کے پرامن حل کے لیے پرعزم ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ دنیا وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف اور فیلڈ مارشل چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز سید عاصم منیر کی عالمی امن، مذاکرات اور استحکام کے فروغ کے لیے کاوشوں کو سراہتی ہے۔ اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان عالمی سطح پر کاربن کے اخراج میں 0.06 فیصد سے بھی کم حصہ ڈالتا ہے، تاہم پاکستان موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے منفی اثرات سے شدید متاثر ہوا ہے، جو ملک کے لیے ایک بڑا چیلنج بن چکا ہے۔ انہوں نے عالمی برادری پر زور دیا کہ وہ موسمیاتی تبدیلی سے پیدا ہونے والے چیلنجز سے نمٹنے کے لیے اپنا کردار ادا کرے۔ اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی گرین پارلیمنٹ دنیا کی پہلی گرین پارلیمنٹ ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پارلیمنٹ میں شمسی توانائی کا استعمال ماحول دوست اقدام ہے، جو پاکستان کے پائیدار اور ماحول دوست ترقی کے عزم کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ ویمن پارلیمانی کاکس خواتین کے حقوق کے تحفظ اور فروغ کے لیے فعال کردار ادا کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ قومی اسمبلی میں چائلڈ رائٹس پارلیمانی کاکس، ایس ڈی جیز سیکریٹریٹ اور ینگ پارلیمنٹرینز فورم بھی قائم کیے گئے ہیں۔ اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ پاکستان میں اقلیتوں کو آزادی اور آئینی حقوق حاصل ہیں۔ انہوں نے پارلیمنٹ میں اقلیتی ارکان کے کردار کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ ریاست کے تمام متعلقہ ادارے اقلیتوں کے حقوق کے تحفظ کے لیے کام کر رہے ہیں۔ اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ پاکستان یورپی یونین کے ساتھ پارلیمانی تعاون کو مزید فروغ دینے کا خواہاں ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مضبوط پارلیمانی روابط پاکستان اور یورپی یونین کے رکن ممالک کے درمیان باہمی مفاہمت، تجربات کے تبادلے اور قریبی تعلقات کے فروغ میں معاون ثابت ہوں گے۔
یورپی پارلیمانی وفد کے ارکان نے خطے میں امن و استحکام کے فروغ کے لیے پاکستان کے کردار کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستان جغرافیائی اعتبار سے ایک اہم ملک ہے اور یورپی یونین پاکستان کے ساتھ اپنے تعلقات کو بہت اہمیت دیتی ہے۔ وفد کے ارکان نے پاکستانی قوم کو باہمت اور امن پسند قرار دیتے ہوئے خطے میں امن و استحکام کے لیے پاکستان کی کوششوں کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے وفد کے پرتپاک استقبال اور مہمان نوازی پر اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق کا شکریہ بھی ادا کیا۔ یورپی پارلیمانی وفد میں محترمہ میری خان، مسٹر ڈینس ہولوش، مسٹر اسٹینسلاو اسٹویانوف، مسٹر توماش فروئلخ، مسٹر ڈین پیڈاک اور مسٹر موسیٰ شامل تھے۔
