Islamabad, 27 August 2026: Secretary National Assembly Secretariat Mr. Saeed Ahmad Maitla and Country Director, Save the Children International, Mr. Muhammad Khurram Gondal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Assembly Secretariat and Save the Children International at Parliament House, Islamabad, on Thursday.
Federal Coordinator, Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR), and Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Danyal Chaudhry, along with MNAs Ms. Asia Naz Tanoli and Mr. Daniyal Ahmed, attended the MoU signing ceremony.
The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between the National Assembly Secretariat and Save the Children International in supporting the PCCR on child-specific issues and initiatives. The areas of collaboration include the Children’s Citizens Internship Programme, digital protection of children, and other key areas relating to the promotion and protection of child rights.
The partnership seeks to facilitate evidence-based parliamentary engagement, strengthen child-focused initiatives, and contribute to creating a safer, more inclusive and supportive environment for children in Pakistan.
The signing of the MoU marks an important step towards strengthening institutional collaboration between Parliament and Save the Children International and reflects a shared commitment to advancing the rights, protection and well-being of children in Pakistan.
Special Secretary (Special Initiatives) Syed Shamoon Hashmi, Chief Technical Advisor Ms. Minail Khan, and officials of the National Assembly Secretariat, including Syed Hazik Bukhari, Ms. Iffat Pervaz and Syed M. Arslan Kazmi, were also present on the occasion.
Save the Children International was represented at the MoU signing ceremony by Country Director Mr. Muhammad Khurram Gondal, Mr. Mohammad Amer, Mr. Noor ul Amin, Ms. Rabia Rauf, Mr. Fawad Bakhtiar and Ms. Munazza Ali.
