Islamabad, August 7, 2026: Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq، has stated that he had not extended any invitation to Opposition for resumption of talks or negotiations with the government during his meeting with MNA Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar on Thursday.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that his meeting with Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar and Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary was also present ok the occasion. The meeting was held in connection with matters relating to the upcoming session of the National Assembly. He,further, stated that no discussion or proposal regarding the resumption or initiation of dialogue between the treasury and opposition benches took place during the meeting.

 

During an informal interaction with Media on Friday, NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that he had only asked for the names of Opposition members who would participate in the Independence Day ceremony “Apart from this, there was no other conversation,” he clarified.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further stated that if any discussion regarding negotiations had taken place between Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary and Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar, he was not aware of it.

 

NA Speaker said that he had made multiple efforts in the past to facilitate dialogue between the government and opposition and had now stopped extending invitations for talks. “I have become tired of extending invitations for negotiations.” he said.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also noted that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had also repeatedly invited the opposition to engage in dialogue on the floor of Parliament.

 

NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that every issue could ultimately be resolved through sitting together and finding common ground, but dialogue could not take place merely through statements made in the media. “Dialogue requires sitting together at the table,” he observed.

 

Regarding the parliamentary committee constituted in the past in connection with political dialogue, the Speaker said that the opposition members whose position had led to the formation of the committee had not approached him with any request for its restoration.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also observed that the PTI have chosen its Leader of the Opposition with the expectation that he would engage in negotiations, but perhaps he had not been granted permission in this regard.

 

Responding to a question regarding the staff attached to PTI chairpersons of standing committees, the Speaker said that the staff would be returned if the respective committee chairpersons relinquished it, and the National Assembly Secretariat would utilize the staff accordingly.

 

NA Speaker also reiterated his willingness to meet the Leader of the Opposition. He said that if the Leader of the Opposition did not wish to come to his chamber, he could come to a committee room instead, adding that he himself would vacate the chamber to facilitate the meeting.

 

However, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq made it clear that the fundamental issue was whether the opposition genuinely wished to engage in negotiations. “The real issue is that they do not want to negotiate,” he said.

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated that Parliament remained the appropriate forum for political dialogue and resolution of issues through mutual consultation and meaningful engagement.

اسلام آباد، 7 اگست 2026ء: اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے واضح کیا ہے کہ انہوں نے گزشتہ روز رکن قومی اسمبلی ملک محمد عامر ڈوگر سے ملاقات کے دوران پاکستان تحریک انصاف (پی ٹی آئی) کو حکومت کے ساتھ مذاکرات کی بحالی یا دوبارہ مذاکرات شروع کرنے کی کوئی دعوت یا تجویز نہیں دی۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ رکن قومی اسمبلی ملک محمد عامر ڈوگر سے ہونے والی ملاقات، جس میں وفاقی وزیر برائے پارلیمانی امور ڈاکٹر طارق فضل چوہدری بھی موجود تھے، قومی اسمبلی کے آئندہ اجلاس سے متعلق امور کے حوالے سے ہوئی۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ ملاقات کے دوران حکومتی اور اپوزیشن بنچوں کے درمیان مذاکرات کی بحالی یا آغاز کے حوالے سے کوئی بات چیت یا تجویز زیرِ غور نہیں آئی۔

 

جمعہ کو میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ انہوں نے دونوں سے صرف یومِ آزادی کی تقریب میں شرکت کرنے والے اراکین قومی اسمبلی کے نام مانگے تھے۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ ’’اس کے علاوہ کوئی اور بات نہیں ہوئی۔‘‘

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے مزید کہا کہ اگر ڈاکٹر طارق فضل چوہدری اور ملک محمد عامر ڈوگر کے درمیان مذاکرات کے حوالے سے کوئی گفتگو ہوئی ہے تو انہیں اس بارے میں علم نہیں۔

 

اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی نے کہا کہ انہوں نے ماضی میں حکومت اور اپوزیشن کے درمیان مذاکرات کے لیے بارہا کوششیں کیں اور مذاکرات کی دعوتیں دیں، تاہم اب انہوں نے مذاکرات کے لیے دعوت دینا چھوڑ دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ’’میں مذاکرات کی دعوتیں دیتے دیتے تھک گیا ہوں، اب میں نے مذاکرات کے لیے کہنا چھوڑ دیا ہے۔‘‘

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف نے بھی ماضی میں متعدد بار اپوزیشن کو پارلیمان کے فلور پر مذاکرات کی دعوت دی ہے۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ ہر مسئلے کا حل بالآخر مل بیٹھ کر اور باہمی اتفاقِ رائے پیدا کرکے نکالا جا سکتا ہے، تاہم صرف میڈیا میں بیانات دینے سے مذاکرات نہیں ہو سکتے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ’’مذاکرات کے لیے میز پر بیٹھنا ضروری ہے۔‘‘

 

ماضی میں سیاسی مذاکرات کے حوالے سے قائم کی گئی پارلیمانی کمیٹی سے متعلق سوال کے جواب میں اسپیکر نے کہا کہ جن اپوزیشن ارکان کے مؤقف کے نتیجے میں یہ کمیٹی تشکیل دی گئی تھی، انہوں نے تاحال اس کمیٹی کی بحالی کے لیے ان سے کوئی رابطہ نہیں کیا۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ ممکن ہے پی ٹی آئی نے قائد حزبِ اختلاف کا انتخاب اس توقع کے ساتھ کیا ہو کہ وہ مذاکرات کریں گے، تاہم شاید انہیں مذاکرات کے لیے اجازت نہیں دی گئی۔

 

پی ٹی آئی سے متعلق قائمہ کمیٹیوں کے چیئرمینوں کے ساتھ منسلک عملے کے حوالے سے سوال کے جواب میں اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی نے کہا کہ اگر متعلقہ قائمہ کمیٹیوں کے چیئرمین یہ عملہ واپس کردیں تو اسے واپس لے لیا جائے گا اور قومی اسمبلی اس عملے کو اپنی ضرورت کے مطابق استعمال کرے گی۔

 

اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے ایک بار پھر قائد حزبِ اختلاف سے ملاقات پر آمادگی کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اگر قائد حزبِ اختلاف ان کے چیمبر میں آنا نہیں چاہتے تو وہ کمیٹی روم میں آ سکتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ملاقات کو آسان بنانے کے لیے وہ خود اپنا چیمبر خالی کر دیں گے۔

 

تاہم اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے واضح کیا کہ بنیادی سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا اپوزیشن واقعی مذاکرات کرنا چاہتی ہے یا نہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ’’اصل مسئلہ یہ ہے کہ وہ مذاکرات نہیں کرنا چاہتے۔‘‘

 

اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق نے اس امر کا اعادہ کیا کہ سیاسی مذاکرات اور مسائل کے حل کے لیے پارلیمان ہی موزوں ترین فورم ہے، جہاں باہمی مشاورت، سنجیدہ مکالمے اور بامعنی رابطے کے ذریعے مسائل کا حل تلاش کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
