Islamabad, June 18, 2026: Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stoenescu, called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House, Islamabad, today. The Speaker warmly welcomed the Ambassador and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and regional developments.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Dan Stoenescu felicitated Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on the successful signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and appreciated Pakistan’s pivotal and constructive role as a mediator between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

The Ambassador lauded the collective efforts of Pakistan’s political and military leadership and stated that their coordinated and visionary diplomacy had made the successful conclusion of the Islamabad MOU possible. Dr. Dan Stoenescu noted that the agreement represents a significant diplomatic breakthrough that has enabled the cessation of hostilities and laid the foundation for peace. 

 

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that the successful conclusion of the Islamabad MOU is a reflection of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace, dialogue, and diplomatic engagement. He reiterated that the achievement is the result of the tireless efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

 

NA Speaker described the Islamabad MOU as a landmark diplomatic breakthrough that has contributed to de-escalation in the region, the strengthening of peace efforts, and the promotion of stability in international relations. He added that the agreement underscores Pakistan’s growing stature as a credible, responsible, and trusted partner in global conflict resolution and diplomacy.

 

Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and constructive role in promoting peace, dialogue, and international cooperation. He acknowledged Pakistan’s rising reputation as a reliable and responsible member of the international community and welcomed its continued efforts toward fostering regional and global stability.

 

Both sides discussed avenues for further strengthening Pakistan–Romania relations, particularly in the fields of politics, economy, culture, education, and parliamentary cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and deepening longstanding ties between the two countries.

 

Ambassador, Dr. Dan Stoenescu presented Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq with a printed version of Pakistan’s national anthem in Urdu and Romanian languages, along with its choral arrangement. The Speaker appreciated the gesture, terming it a distinctive expression of cultural harmony, mutual respect, and the strengthening of people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Romania.

اسلام آباد، 18 جون 2026: رومانیہ کے سفیر ڈاکٹر ڈین اسٹوینیسکو نے آج پارلیمنٹ ہاؤس اسلام آباد میں اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق سے ملاقات کی۔ اسپیکر نے سفیر کا پرتپاک خیرمقدم کیا اور دوطرفہ تعلقات و علاقائی صورتحال سمیت باہمی دلچسپی کے امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔

 

ملاقات کے دوران ڈاکٹر ڈین اسٹوینیسکو نے اسلام آباد میمورنڈم آف انڈرسٹینڈنگ پر دستخط کے موقع پر اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق کو مبارکباد پیش کی اور امریکہ اور اسلامی جمہوریہ ایران کے درمیان مفاہمت کے لیے پاکستان کے کلیدی اور تعمیری کردار کو سراہا۔

 

رومانیہ کے سفیر نے پاکستان کی سیاسی اور عسکری قیادت کی مشترکہ کاوشوں کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کی مربوط اور دوراندیش سفارت کاری کے باعث اسلام آباد ایم او یو پر دستخط ممکن ہوے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ معاہدہ ایک اہم سفارتی پیش رفت ہے جس کے نتیجے میں کشیدگی میں کمی اور امن کے لیے نئی راہیں ہموار ہوئی ہیں۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے کہا کہ اسلام آباد ایم او یو کا کامیاب انعقاد پاکستان کے امن، مکالمے اور سفارتی روابط کے فروغ کے غیر متزلزل عزم کا مظہر ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ کامیابی وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف، نائب وزیراعظم و وزیر خارجہ سینیٹر اسحاق ڈار، چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر اور وفاقی وزیر داخلہ سید محسن رضا نقوی کی انتھک کوششوں کا نتیجہ ہے۔

 

اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے اسلام آباد ایم او یو کو ایک اہم سفارتی پیش رفت قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس معاہدے نے خطے میں کشیدگی میں کمی، امن کی کوششوں کے فروغ اور بین الاقوامی تعلقات میں استحکام کو تقویت دی ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ یہ معاہدہ عالمی تنازعات کے حل اور سفارت کاری میں پاکستان کے ایک معتبر، ذمہ دار اور قابلِ اعتماد شراکت دار کے طور پر بڑھتے ہوئے کردار کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔

 

ڈاکٹر ڈین اسٹوینیسکو نے پاکستان کے امن، مکالمے اور بین الاقوامی تعاون کے فروغ میں مسلسل اور تعمیری کردار کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے عالمی برادری میں پاکستان کی بڑھتی ہوئی ساکھ کو تسلیم کرتے ہوئے علاقائی و عالمی استحکام کے لیے اس کی کاوشوں کو خوش آئند قرار دیا۔

 

دونوں فریقین نے پاکستان اور رومانیہ کے تعلقات کو مزید مستحکم بنانے کے مختلف امکانات پر تبادلہ خیال کیا، خصوصاً سیاسی، معاشی، ثقافتی، تعلیمی اور پارلیمانی تعاون کے شعبوں میں۔ انہوں نے دوطرفہ تعلقات کو مزید فروغ دینے اور دیرینہ دوستانہ روابط کو مضبوط بنانے کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا۔

 

ملاقات کے اختتام پر رومانیہ کے سفیر ڈاکٹر ڈین اسٹوینیسکو نے اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی سردار ایاز صادق کو پاکستان کے قومی ترانے کی اردو اور رومانی زبان میں طباعت شدہ کاپی اور اس کی کورل ترتیب بطور تحفہ پیش کی۔ اسپیکر سردار ایاز صادق نے اس اقدام کو ثقافتی ہم آہنگی، باہمی احترام اور پاکستان و رومانیہ کے درمیان گہرے روابط کے فروغ کی خوبصورت مثال قرار دیا۔
