Monday, 18th May, 2026

Islamabad, 18 May 2026: Speaker  National Assembly  Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has strongly condemned the firing incident targeting the security team assigned to the anti-polio campaign in the Salarzai area of Bajaur district.

The Speaker expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of police personnel  Mr.Qadir and Mr. Aziz, who lost their lives while performing security duties during the anti-polio campaign. He paid rich tribute to the martyred police officials for their bravery and sacrifices in the line of duty.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also commended the professional services and dedication of the security personnel deployed for the protection of polio teams.

Expressing heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved families, the Speaker said that he equally shares their grief during this difficult time.

He stated that attacks on polio teams and security personnel are attacks on the spirit of national service. Targeting those working to protect innocent children from the deadly disease of polio is highly unfortunate and condemnable, he added.

The Speaker further remarked that terrorist elements can not weaken the resolve of the nation and that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security institutions.

He said that terrorists are attempting to sabotage a vital national campaign such as the anti-polio drive to fulfil their malicious objectives.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that the sacrifices rendered by the security forces and law enforcement agencies for the establishment of peace in the country are unforgettable.

He also prayed for the elevation of the ranks and eternal peace of the martyred police personnel and for patience and strength for the bereaved families.
