Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) meets

Islamabad, February 24th, 2026: 12th Meeting of the Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) was held today at 11:00 a.m. in the Committee Room of the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), 2nd Floor, Kohsar Block, Pak-Secretariat, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan, MNA.
 
The Ministry of inter provincial coordination(IPC) presented details of 34 approved unapproved and unfunded projects related to sports and tourism, valued at PKR 23,776.302 million, for the 2025-26 PSDP. The estimated expenditure for 2025-26 is PKR 1,179.84 million, while PKR 13,184.145 million is demanded for 2026-27.
 
The Secretary IPC informed the committee that cycling has been introduced for the first time in sports in Pakistan, and e-sports has been introduced in the curriculum, with coaches hired in 5 schools. Pakistan has won e-sports prize globally.
 
Ministry of planning apprised the committee that 700 guides are being trained and in this regard data will be available for services on the website.
While explaining the problems faced by the players of Pakistan hockey team during the tour of Australia in pro league tournament held in February 2026,Secretary said that incompetency and lack of internal accountability were the cause of embarrassment.
 
The Committee reconstituted a Sub - Committee under the convenorship of Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, MNA with Mr Anjum Aqeel khan and Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan under the TOR,s
 
1- Year wise major achievement of the Pakistan Sports Board for the last 5 financial years.
 
2- Development and non-development funds along with amounts reserved, released and utilized during the said period.
 
3- Details of grants provided, including purpose, amount, and beneficiary organizations, year wise.
 
4- Details of audit objections of aforesaid years which could not be settled through statutory forums, along with reasons for non- settlement.
 
The meeting was attended by Mr. Muhammad Idrees, Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, Mr. Anjum Aqeel Khan, Mr. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed (Zoom), Mr Waseem Qadir, Ms. Syeda Shehla Raza, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto,Mr Muhammad Iqbal Khan, MNA”s and Senior Officers from the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC), Ministry of Planning and Ministry of Finance were also present in the meeting.
