Secretary National Assembly Distributes Certificates Among Officers on Successful Completion of Batch-1 In-House Training Programme

Islamabad; February 13, 2026: In line with the vision of Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance the overall efficiency of the National Assembly Secretariat the Batch-1 In-House Training Programme was conducted at the National Assembly Secretariat. The Secretary National Assembly, Mr. Saeed Ahmad Maitla, distributed Certificates of Participation among the participants of the Batch-1 In-House Training Programme conducted from 1st December 2025 to 9th January 2026 at Parliament House, Islamabad, today.
 
50 Officers from Grade-17 to 20 participated in this training programme. This training programme was conducted by the Training Branch of the National Assembly Secretariat. The programme is part of a structured initiative aimed at professional development and capacity building of employees.
 
The comprehensive training programme was designed to equip officers with in-depth knowledge of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973; the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007; the National Assembly Employees Act, 2018 and its rules; relevant Finance Rules; and the Rules of Business, 1973. The programme aimed at strengthening participants’ understanding of parliamentary procedures, legislative processes, financial regulations, and administrative frameworks governing the functioning of the National Assembly.
 
Addressing the ceremony, the Secretary National Assembly emphasized that capacity building and continuous professional development are essential for ensuring efficient, transparent, and effective parliamentary support services. He stated that well-trained and well-informed officers form the backbone of a vibrant parliamentary institution, as their expertise directly contributes to improved legislative support, procedural compliance, and institutional efficiency. 
 
He further noted that the In-House Training Programme would significantly enhance the officers’ professional competence, decision-making abilities, and understanding of constitutional and legal responsibilities. By strengthening their grasp of procedural and financial rules, the officers would be better equipped to perform their duties with greater confidence, accuracy, and accountability, thereby contributing to improved service delivery and institutional performance.
 
The Secretary appreciated the efforts of the Training Branch for organizing the programme and stated that as per the vision of the Speaker National Assembly, such structured training initiatives would continue on a regular basis to further strengthen the institutional capacity of the National Assembly Secretariat.
 
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participating officers. The Senior Officers of the National Assembly were present during the ceremony.
