Reception held at U.S. Embassy in Islamabad in honor of visiting U.S. Congressional Delegation

Islamabad, April 12, 2025: A formal diplomatic reception was hosted today by Ms. Natalie Baker, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, in honor of the visiting delegation from the United States Congress currently on an official visit to Pakistan. The distinguished delegation comprises Representative Jack Bergman (R-MI), Representative Tom Suozzi (D-NY), and Representative Jonathan Jackson (D-IL).
The reception was attended by members of the Pakistan–U.S. Parliamentary Friendship Group, reflecting the spirit of bilateral cooperation and the shared commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy between the two nations. 
 
The following members of the Pakistan- USA Parliamentary Friendship Group were present:

 2. Mr. Noor Alam Khan
 3. Ms. Zeb Jaffar
 4. Mr. Danyal Chaudhry
 5. Mr. Amjid Ali Khan
 6. Ms. Farah Akber Naz
 7. Ms. Sehar Kamran
 
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary , Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and MNA Atif Khan also attended the reception. 
 
In her remarks, delivered on behalf of the Convener Syed Hussain Tariq and members of the Pakistan–U.S. Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam extended a warm welcome to the visiting Representatives. She noted that the evening signified not only the celebration of enduring Pakistan–U.S. ties but also a reaffirmation of a mutual commitment to deepening this strategic partnership through open dialogue, principled cooperation, and mutual respect.
 
Ms. Alam emphasized Pakistan’s steadfast resolve to explore new frontiers of engagement aimed at collective advancement, underscoring the importance of a constructive relationship with the current U.S. administration in fostering peace, security, and sustainable development. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s adherence to the principles of sovereignty, mutual respect, and shared global responsibilities as the foundation of bilateral relations.
 
She also highlighted the pivotal role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in reinforcing diplomatic relations. Such platforms, she noted, are vital in promoting people-to-people exchanges, facilitating legislative cooperation, and ensuring that democratic institutions continue to reflect the values and aspirations of the citizens they represent.
 
The members of the U.S. Congressional delegation shared their positive reflections on the visit and expressed their continued support for further strengthening bilateral ties across diverse sectors.
