The meetings of Standing Committees held at Parliament House

Thursday, 6th June, 2024

Islamabad, the 6th June, 2024: The Honourable Speaker in exercise of powers conferred by Rule 215 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007 has appointed the three Standing Committees. The meetings of these Standing Committees were held today i.e. 06.06.2024 in the Constitution Room, Parliament House, Islamabad:

Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting

2. The meeting of the Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting was held today at 06:00 p.m. under the Chairmanship of Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA.

3. The Committee considered “The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2023” (Ord. No.II of 2023). After detailed deliberations, the Committee unanimously passed the Bill with amendments.

4. The meeting was attended by the Members of the National Assembly; Syed Amin-ul-Haq, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Mr. Noor Alam Khan and Mr. Muhammad Awn Saqlain. The meeting was also attended by the officers from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law & Justice.
Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs

5. The meeting of the Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs was held today at 06:15 p.m. under the Chairmanship of Mr. Bilal Azhar Kiyani, MNA.

6. The Committee considered “The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2023” (Ord. No.III of 2023). After detailed deliberations, the Committee unanimously passed the said Bill with amendments.
 
7. The meeting was attended by the Members of the National Assembly; Syed Amin-ul-Haq, Syed Naveed Qamar, Mr. Noor Alam Khan and Mr. Muhammad Awn Saqlain. The meeting was also attended by the officers from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law & Justice. Standing Committee on Communications

8. The meeting of the Standing Committee on Communications was held today at 06:30 p.m. under the Chairmanship of Syed Amin-ul-Haq, MNA.

9. The Committee considered “The Pakistan Postal Services Management Board (Amendment) Bill, 2023” (Ord. No.IV of 2023) and “The National Highway Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2023 (Ord. No.V of 2023). After detailed deliberations, the Committee unanimously passed both the Bills with amendments.

10. The meeting was attended by the Members of the National Assembly; Syed Naveed Qamar, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Mr. Noor Alam Khan and Mr. Muhammad Awn Saqlain. The meeting was also attended by the officers from the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law & Justice.
