5th meeting of the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs of the National Assembly was held today

Islamabad the 11th October, 2019 : 5th Meeting for the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs was held today at 2:30 p.m. under the Chairmanship of Mr. Mujahid Ali, MNA in Committee Room No. 7 (4th Floor), Parliament House, Islamabad. The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting which was held on 19th April, 2019. Compliance on the comprehensive report/implementation status of the previous recommendations of the Committee was given by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

 The Minister of State/In-charge, Prime Minister’s Public Affairs and Grievances Wing apprised the Committee that the Fatal Diseases will be dealt with the Pakistan Baitulmal and Health Department and other complaints will be dealt with the Grievances Wing. The Committee Members gave suggestion to provide relief/remedy to the patients of kidney, heart and lever-transplantation. The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs informed the Committee Members about his visits in the Divisional Headquarters of the Provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Baluchistan to resolve the public grievances and held open kacheries in various cities of the country, addressed many public grievances and issues were resolved therein. He also added that Prime Minister’s Public Affairs & Grievances Wing is empathetically responding to the grievances of general public addressed to Prime-Minister. He told the Committee Members that most of the answers on the their queries will be given by the Joint Secretary while briefing to the Committee on working and performance of the P.M Grievances Cell in the first Parliamentary year and record of complaints received and disposed off. 

The Committee was given briefing by the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on working and performance of the P.M Grievances Cell in the first Parliamentary year and record of complaints received and disposed off.  The Joint Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs assured the Committee, on a query raised by a Member, to provide audit report to the Committee on the province-wise resolved cases of lever transplantation, bone marrow patients and the amount spent on patients of lever transplantation and bone marrow cases.

The Committee Members requested to the Committee to give suggestion to the M/o Health to revise the worse condition of the KPL Hospital, Lahore, invite the senior doctors from abroad to assist the Hospital and restore its best treatment environment for the general public, run the hospital in three shifts and also suggested to inquire from the Ministry of Health about the liver transplant and bone marrow cases dealt with the KPL Hosp[ital, Lahore upon which the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs suggested the Committee to fix date to convene meeting in the KPL Hospital and visiting therein to examine its infrastructure, equipments, treatment method and paramedical staff of the Hospital, consequently the Committee suggested to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to convene a meeting and visit the KPL Hospital in near future. The Secretary of the Ministry assured the Committee for compliance in this respect.  

The Chairman, Standing Committee (Mr. Mujahid Ali), Mr. Junaid Akbar, Mr. Mansoor Hayat Khan, Mst. Shaheeen Naz Saifullah, Ms, Fouzia Behram, Ch. Mehmood Bashir Virk, Rana Mubashir Iqbal,  Mr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Ms. Shamsun Nisa, MNAs/Members of the Standing Committee and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs (Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan) attended the meeting.
