Meeting of the Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development
Tuesday, 3rd September, 2019

Islamabad 3rd September, 2019:  5th meeting of the Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) was held today under the Chairmanship of Sheikh Fayyaz Ud Din, MNA.

2.    The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its 4th meeting held on 17th May, 2019.

3.    The Committee took the serious notice of embezzlements in the award of post matric scholarships to 202,169 workers children’s by the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) particularly in Khyber PakhtunKhwa.  The Committee directed Secretary WWF to provide complete list of ongoing and completed housing and health projects.

4.    The 10,896 Pakistani imprisoned in jails/detention centers in different countries of the world was a way of concern. The Committee constituted the Sub-Committee with the following Composition and Terms of Reference:-


i.   Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto      Convener 
ii.  Mr. Javed Hassnain             Member
iii. Mr. Shahid Ahmed               Member

Terms of Reference:-

       “to look into the reasons of detentions of Overseas Pakistanis in different countries and formulated recommendations to help in releasing them from jails/detention centers”

5.    Mr. Fazal Muhammad Khan, Mr. Shahid Ahmed, Syed Javed Hassnain, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Ms. Sobia Kamal Khan, Ms. Tashfeen Safdar, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, Mr. Khial Zaman, Mr. Noor-ul-Hassan Tanvir, Mr. Muhammad Jamal- ud-Din, Mr. Atta Ullah, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Khan Dullah MNA’s, and senior officers from the Ministry attended the meeting.
