NA Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs meets

Islamabad; 15th May, 2019: Meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs was held in Parliament House, Islamabad this Afternoon with Malik Muhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, Chairman in the chair.
 
The Committee directed that Immigration and Passport office may simplest the procedure for obtaining/renewing passports for Overseas Pakistanis and establish online system to facilitate them. The Committee also directed that Immigration and Passport offices might be established at prime locations in abroad to make them easily approachable for Pakistanis living abroad.
 
The Committee expressed displeasure over the non-professional and non-cooperative attitude of FIA officials at Pakistani Airports and stressed upon the need to develop a proper mechanism to monitor their activities at Airports so they could not tease to Pakistani passengers especially labor class while coming back to Pakistan. The Committee further directed that FIA may strengthen its complaint cells at Airports for timely assistance to the complainant.
 
Earlier, representatives of FIA and Immigration and Passport offices briefly apprised the Committee about the initiatives taken by them to facilitate Overseas Pakistanis and problems faced by them in this regard.
 
The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdul Shakoor, MNA, Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi, MNA, Ms. Munaza Hassan, MNA, Mr. Fazal Muhammad Khan, MNA, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, MNA Mr. Ali Zahid, MNA, Ms. Mehnaz Akbar Aziz, MNA, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, MNA, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, MNA and officials of M/o Foreign Affairs.
