NA Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs meets today

Islamabad the 19th February, 2019: Meeting for the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs was held on 19th February, 2019 at 02:00 p.m. in the Committee Room 7 (Fourth Floor), Parliament House, Islamabad.

The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Chairman, Standing Committee welcomed the Honourable Members and participants in the meeting.

The Minutes of previous meeting of the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs which was held on 12-2-2019 were confirmed by the Committee.

The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2018 which was passed by the Senate on 16-11-2018 and transmitted to the National Assembly. It was introduced in the National Assembly on 17-12-2018 and stood referred to the Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs. The instant Bill was discussed and unanimously passed by the  Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs in its  meetings today  with the proposed amendment that the Commissioner shall constitute benches comprising TWO OR MORE  members of the Commission to hear and decide complaints, applications, petitions or appeals filed before it under this Act.

“The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2018” {Substitution of Section 27, Act XXXIII of 2017 (Moved by Moulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, MNA was discussed in the meeting and differed the same in its next meeting.

The Chairman, Standing Committee (Mr.Mujahid Ali), Ms.Maleeka Ali Bokhari, Ms. Rukhsana Naveed, Mst.Shaheeen Naz Saifullah, Ms. ZileHuma, Ms, Fouzia Behram, Moulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Rana Mubashir Iqbal,MNAs/Members of the Standing Committee  and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs attended the meeting.
