Islamabad, 25th April, 2018; 43rd meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior was held today under the Chairmanship of Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan, MNA. The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The Committee offered Fateha for the martyrs of the Quetta bomb blasts and then the Committee decided to proceed with the agenda. The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 11-04-2018. The concerned department informed the Committee that the recommendations made in its previous meetings were implemented.

2.       The Committee deferred the followings Bills:-

i.              “The Islamabad Birthing Center and Hospital Maternity Services Bill, 2017 (moved by Zahra Wadood Fatimi, MNA);

ii.               “The West Pakistan Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Bill, 2017”, (moved by Ms. Aisha Syed, MNA);

iii.             “ The National Database and Registration Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2017 (Section 10-A) (moved by Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqoob, MNA;

iv.              “ The National Database and Registration Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2018 (Section 10) (moved by Ms. Saman Sultana Jafri, MNA);

3.         The Committee examined “The Anti-Terrorism (Amendment), Bill, 2018” (moved by Mr. Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla); and decided that the Bill may be passed by the National Assembly.

4.         Hon. Members/MNAs/Mover Malik Abdul Ghaffar Dogar,  Syed Iftikhar-ul-Hassan, Mian Shahid Hussain Khan Bhatti, Mr. Ehsan-ur-RehmanMazari, Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur, Kanwar Naveed  Jameel, Mr. Muhammad Salman Khan Baloch, Ms. Naeema Kishwer Khan, Mr. Sher Akber Khan, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Ms. Aisha Syed, and Mian Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Interior attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Interior and its departments, Ministry of Law and Justice, Passport Office with their staff.
