A meeting of the Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony held today in the Committee Room # 7, Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairperson of Ms. Shagufta Jumani, MNA.

2.    The Committee considered the comprehensive report/implementation status of the recommendations of the previous meetings.

3.         The Committee considered “The Commission for Minorities Bill, 2015” (moved by Ms. Beelam Hasnain, MNA), “The Commission for Minorities Bill, 2015” (moved by Mr. Lal Chand Malhi, MNA) and “The Commission for Minorities Bill, 2015” (moved by Mr. Sanjay Perwani, MNA). The Sub-Committee was constituted to consider the said Bills in detail, under the Convener-ship of Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan, MNA. The Sub-Committee will submit its report in one week.

4.       Hajj policy, 2018 was also considered in detail. The Committee directed that the policy should be formulated to facilitate the public and foolproof arrangements should be done keeping in view the previous experiences.

5.        The Committee also considered the issue of Mujamla visas for the Hujj 2017 in detail. Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony informed the Committee, that five-hundred Mujamla visas were issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a courtesy on the last date to accommodate Hujjaj.

6.        MNAs Ch. Nazeer Ahmed, Malik Abdul Ghaffar Dogar, Sahibzada Faiz-ul- Hassan, Mr. Bhawan Das, Ms. Kiran Imran Dar, Mr. Ramesh Lal, Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan, Mr. Muhammad Kamal, Molvi Agha Muhammad, Ms. Shaida Akhtar Ali, Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub, Mr. Lal Chand Malhi and Ms. Belum Hasnain, mover of the Bill attended the meeting.
