Islamabad, the 2nd January, 2018: A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges was held today at 2:00 p.m.in Committee Room No.7, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Rana Muhamamd Qasim Noon, MNA.

2.  On the Question of Privilege raised by Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, MNA, the Committee constituted a Sub-Committee under the convenership of Sheikh Muhammad Akram, MNA and Mr. Shagufta Jumani, Rana Umar Nazir Khan and Mr. Muhammad Ali Rashid, MNAs as its members.

3. The Committee disposed of the Question of Privileges of Mr. Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Ch. Bilal Ahmed Virk, Ms. Shazia Marri, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Maulana Fafzal-ur-Rehman, Ch. Abid Raza and Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, MNAs.

4.  The Committee disposed of the amendment moved by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho in Rule 122 and 244 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.

5. The Committee pended the Questions of Privileges raised by Mr. Siraj Muhammad Khan, Mr. Ghalib Khan Advocate, MNAs and the matter moved by Mr. Abdul Majid Khan Khanankhail, MNA.

6.On the Question of Privilege raised by Mr. Amjid Ali Khan, MNA, the Committee directed that the Inspector General of Police, Punjab should attend the next meeting of the Committee in person.

7.  The Committee confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 29-11-2017. The compliance Report on the previous recommendations of the Committee was also seen by the Committee.

8.  The Committee took suo moto on the matter of not attending the telephone calls of the Hon. Chairman of Privilege Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, MNA and not even calling back by Mr. Ghulam Mahboob Rabbani,  XEN, Irrigation , Canal Lodhran Division, Punjab.

9. In any other item, the Committee pended the amendment moved by Ms. Naeema Kishwar Khan, MNA in Rule 48 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.

The meeting was also attended by Rana Muhamamd Afzal Khan, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Mr. Siraj Muhammad Khan, Mr. Ghalib Khan Advocate, Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan and Mr. Amjid Ali Khan, MNAs/Movers.
