Islamabad, 18th September, 2017: The Standing Committees on Defence of National Assembly and Senate were briefed at GHQ, Rawalpindi by the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) on the ongoing Military Operations against Terrorism by emphasizing the commitment to do all that is required to uproot terrorism.

2. The Chief of Army Staff and the Parliamentarians held detailed question-answer session and addressed all the points raised during the discussion. Both civil and military leadership was unanimous on holding such like interactive sessions in the highest national interest for developing the policies and strategies to strengthen all institutions in the country.   

3. The briefing was attended by Shaikh Rohale Asghar, Chairman, National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence, and the following members of the National Assembly and Senate  Mr. Isphanyar M. Bhandara,  Ms Surriya Asghar, Mr. Sanjay Perwani,  Lt. Col. (Retd) Ghulam Rasul Sahi, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Manais, Sheikh Muhammad Akram, Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Syed Mustafa Mehmud, Dr. Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazri, Mr. Shafqat Mahmood, Ms. Kishwer Zehra, Mr. Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq, Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar MNAs and the Senators  Mr. Ilyas Ahmad Bilour, Hidayat Ullah, Col. (R) Syed Tahir  Hussain Mashhadi, Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum, Muhammad Javed Abbasi, Mrs. Sehar Kamran, and Mr. Saleem Mandviwala.
