Islamabad, 02nd May 2017; 33rd meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control was held today under the Chairmanship of Rana Shamim Ahmad Khan, MNA.

2.        The meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Then, the Committee decided to proceed with the agenda.

3.         The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on      21-02-2017. The Committee deferred agenda Item No. 2 till further meeting of the agenda item.

4.        The Committee took up the agenda Item No. 3 and deferred the (i), (vi) and (ii),(iii) be passed/approved and (iv),(v) were decided not to be approved. The Committee unanimously confirmed the report of the Sub-Committee appointed under the Convenership of Ms. Naeema Kishwer Khan, MNA.

5.         The Committee discussed the issue of violence with female passengers on Benazir International Airport by the officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Departmental Representative briefed the Committee but the Committee dissatisfied and directed to the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control that the officer not below the rank of D.I.G shall attend the Committee meeting scheduled to be held on 03rd May, 2017, positively, for the briefing on above issue as well as the issue of illegal trade of Human Organs across the country. The Committee took up the issue related to the security as well as the threatening calls and messaging to the Hon. Member and directed the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control that the effective and serious steps shall be taken in this regard and ensure the security of effected Hon. Members on priority as well as immediate basis. The Committee also directed to the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control that the Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Chairman, NADRA and D.G NADRA with all concerned officers shall attend the Committee meeting scheduled to be held on 03rd May, 2017, positively.

6.        The Hon. Members/MNAs/Mover Mr. Ghalib Khan, Dr. Ibadullah, Syed Iftikhar-ul-Hassan, Mian Shahid Hussain Khan Bhatti, Mr. Nauman Islam Shaikh, Dr. Arif Alvi, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Mr. Salman Khan Baloch, Ms. Naeema Kishwer Khan, Mr. Sher Akbar Khan and Ms. Surriya Asghar were attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control and Ministry of Law and Justice with their staff.
