NA Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination meets

Monday, 27th February, 2017

Islamabad; 27th February, 2017 Meeting of the Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination was held in committee room of the ministry, G-5/2, Islamabad this Morning with Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA in the chair.

The Standing Committee discussed the proposals of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the financial year 2017-18 relating to M/o National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination and its attached departments. The Committee appreciated all the proposals however, directed that M/o National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination may ensure the completion of ongoing projects before initiating new projects and also ensures timely completion of new projects in order to avoid financial losses. The Committee therefore, unanimously passed the budgetary proposals of M/o National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination of the upcoming financial year.

The Committee observed that policies were confined to papers only as their implementation seemed to be invisible at gross root level especially in remote and far flung areas of the country. The Committee therefore, directed that policies might be devised keeping in view the ground realities instead of estimated figures to bring their benefits at gross root level and ministry may develop a proper working relationship with the provinces so that policies could be implemented in real sense.

The Committee expressed grave concern over the sale of sub-standard/un-registered stents in the government hospitals and directed that M/o National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination may coordinate with the investigating Agencies in order to bring the culprits behind the bars. The Committee directed that ministry may ensure the usage of auto disable syringes in all over the country as well.
