Islamabad; 16th February, 2017 Meeting of the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat held in new International Airport, Islamabad this Morning with Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNA in the chair.

The Committee discussed the proposals of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the financial year 2017-18 relating to Civil Aviation Division and its attached departments. The Committee appreciated all the proposals however, directed that Civil Aviation Division may ensure the completion of ongoing projects before initiating new projects and also ensure their timely completion in order to avoid financial losses. The Committee therefore, unanimously passed the budgetary proposals of Civil Aviation Division of the upcoming financial year.

The Committee highly appreciated the performance of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) however, directed that CAA may ensure the completion of new Islamabad International Airport within given time frame and also ensure the provision of International facilities at Airport. The Committee also appreciated the completion of Ramma Dam at new Islamabad International Airport in short span of time and directed that the management of Airport may also ensure the availability of other basic facilities before its inauguration likely to be held on 14th August, 2017.

The Committee deemed that medical machines of dialysis, ventilator, MRI, City Scan etc of PIMS, Poly Clinic, NIRM and CDA Hospitals are insufficient as most of them are obsolete and non functional. Consequently, the patients are being referred towards private labs to obtain tests on heavy costs. The Committee directed that CA&DD may ensure the availability of new medical machines in all government Hospitals of Islamabad to cope with the requirements of the patients.
