NA Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control Meets Meets

Islamabad, 14th February, 2017; 31st meeting of the Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control was held today under the Chairmanship of Syed Javed Ali Shah, MNA.
2. The meeting was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The Committee offered “Fateh” of the innocent peoples who martyred in the different incidents recently happened in Pakistan. Then the Committee decided to proceed with the given agenda.
3. The Committee took up five Private Members Bills and deferred till the outcome from the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control and Ministry of Law and Justice. Then the Committee was briefed about the PSDP projects for the year 2017-18 for the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control. The Committee with majority of votes approved the PSDP projects for the year 2017-18 of the Narcotics Control Division and deferred the PSDP projects for the year 2017-18 pertaining to the Ministry of Interior till its next meeting expected to be held on 21st February, 2017. Then, the Committee unanimously passed the presented Sub-Committee report which was constituted in the meeting of the Committee dated 28th December, 2016 under the Convenership of Syed Javed Ali Shah, MNA. The Committee directed Narcotics Control Division to stop provision/sale of drugs/narcotics in all Educational Institutions. The Committee constituted a Sub-Committee under the Convenership of Ms. Naeema Kishwer Khan, MNA to consider all remaining Private Member’s Bills before the Committee.
4. The Hon. Members/Mover/MNA Mr. Ghalib Khan, Dr. Ibadullah, Syed Iftikhar-ul-Hassan, Mian Shahid Hussain Khan Bhatti, Makhdoom Syed Ali Hassan Gillani, Ms. Tahmina Daultana, Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur, Dr. Arif Alvi, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Ms. Naeema Kishwer Khan, Mr. Sher Akbar Khan, Mr. S.A. Iqbal Quadri, Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, Ms. Aliya Kamran Murtaza and Ms. Aisha Syed were attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control and the Ministry of Law and Justice with their staff.
