NA Standing Committee on Human Rights meets today

Islamabad, January 11th 2017; 18th meeting of the Standing Committee on Human Rights was held today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA.

2.      The meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran. The Committee welcomed Ms. Rabiya Javeri Agha newly posted as Secretary (In-charge) Ministry of Human Rights along with special invitee of Mr. Zummrad Khan, Ex- M.D Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal and Pattern-in-Chief, Pakistan Sweet Homes. The Committee acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and achievements of Mr. Khan being Pattern-in-Chief, Pakistan Sweet Homes. 

3.       Agenda Item No. 1

The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting held on 07.12.2016. Further, the Committee unanimously acknowledged that the Sub-Committee which was constitute on 28th September, 2016 under the Convenership of Ms. Munaza Hassan, MNA had been completed its life time of thirty days. Therefore, it is not remaining effective, so that, the pending business as per ToRs of the Sub-Committee will be considered by the main Committee. 

4.       Agenda Item No. 2

        The representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefed the Committee about the existing policy of Government of Pakistan on Kashmir issue but the Committee recommended that we should fight more effectively on this issue especially at International Forums. The Committee also acknowledged that Kashmir is aorta of Pakistan and we will get it back at any rate INSHA-ALLAh.   

5.     Agenda Item No. 3

        Mr. Zummrad Khan, Pattern-in-Chief, Pakistan Sweet Homes briefed the Committee about the existing child beggers issues and their solutions. The Committee appreciated the given suggestions and asked many questions pertaining to this issue from the Ministry of Human Rights and the representative from Islamabad Police department because this issue was already took up in one of Committee’s previous meeting. Therefore, the Committee recommended that Government of Pakistan might grant sufficient fund to Ministry of Human Rights for making Child Protection Centre, so that; we should be provided International Level facilities to the miner Childs. Further, on invitation of Mr. Khan the Committee unanimously decided to take a visit of Pakistan Sweet Homes in future.       

6.      The Hon. MNAs/Members Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub, Sayed Essa Nori, Begum Tahira Bukhari, Ms. Farhana Qamar, Ms. Phyllis Azeem, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Asiya Naz Tanoli, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms. Munaza Hassan, Mr. Sajid Nawaz and Ms. Kishwer Zehra were attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Human Rights and the representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Islamabad Police with their staff.
