NA Standing Committee on Railways meets

Islamabad, the 9th November, 2016: The 18th meeting of the Standing Committee on Railways was held today at 2:30 p.m. in Committee Room No. 2, Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA.
 

2.  Fateha was offered for the departed soul of father of Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA/ Chairman of the Standing Committee.
 

3.  The Committee was briefed about the trains accidents occurred during the last three years along with causes / reasons. It was also informed that the 50% of the accidents were caused due to unmanned level crossing and unauthorized Railways crossing. The Ministry also presented a provisional report on the recent trains’ accident at Karachi. The Ministry informed that the matter is under investigation and complete final report will be submitted to the Committee before the next meeting.
 

4.  The Committee heard the views on issue of Royal Palm Golf and Country Club from the Ministry and representatives of the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club. The Committee directed the Ministry to provide the complete details of advertisement for inviting the bidders for leasing the said land / club, the procedure adopted for short listing of the bidders, and the terms of the conditions of lease agreement along with other relevant materials as the ministry may deem fit to the Committee before the next meeting.         
 

5.  Syed Muhammad Saqlain Bukhari, Mr. Rasheed Ahmad Khan, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Jatt and Mr. Ramesh Lal, MNAs attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the Minister for Railways, senior Officers of the Ministry of Railways and representative of the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club.
