Islamabad, 08th November, 2016: The Standing Committee on Human Rights met today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA in Committee Room of Ministry of Human Rights, Islamabad to consider the following agenda:-

Agenda Item No. 1

i)             Confirmation of minutes of previous meeting held on 20-10-2016.

Agenda Item No. 2

                                     i.        “The Women in Distress end Detention Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2016" (Amendment of section 6, Act XV of 1996) (Government Bill).

                                    ii.        “The Protection of Minorities Bill, 2016” (Moved by Mr. Sanjay Pervani, MNA). 

Agenda Item No. 3

                                     i.        To review the existing law of Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA).

                                    ii.        Any other item with permission of the Chair.

 2.                The Standing Committee on Human Rights considered “The Women in Distress end Detention Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2016" (Amendment of section 6, Act XV of 1996), a  Government Bill.  The Committee,  a after  thorough  discussion on the aforementioned Bill unanimously  recommended that the said Bill may be passed with certain amendments therein.

3.                The Committee recommended “The Protection of Minorities Bill, 2016” Moved by Mr. Sanjay Pervani, MNA may be deferred till the next Committee meeting  so that the bill in question may be considered deeply.

4.                Thereafter the Standing Committee on Human Rights considered to review the existing law of Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA). The Committee after thorough discussion on aforementioned Bill unanimously recommended that the said Bill may be passed with certain amendments therein.
