Islamabad, October 20th 2016; 14th meeting of the Standing Committee on Human Rights was held today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Babar Nawaz Khan, MNA.
 

2.      The meeting was started with the recitation from Holy Quran. The Committee considered “The Women in Distress and Detention Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2016” (Amendment of section 6, Act XV of 1996) (Government Bill) in detail. However, keeping in view the volume/length of the Bill, the Committee decided to defer the Bill till upcoming meeting.

3.      The Committee considered “The National Commission on the Status of Women (Amendment) Bill, 2016” {Amendment of sections 4 & 8, Act VIII of 2012}, moved by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA in detail. Thereafter, the Committee recommended that the afore mentioned Bill be passed without amendments.

4.      The Committee reviewed the existing law of Human Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) in detail and recommended/proposed certain amendments therein.       

5.      The Hon. MNAs/Members/Mover Sayed Essa Nori, Ms. Farhana Qamar, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms. Kiran Haider, Ms. Asiya Naz Tanoli, Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms. Aliya Kamran Murtaza, Mrs. Naseema Hafeez Panezai and Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan were attended the meeting besides the senior officers of the concerned Ministries/departments.
