For National Commission on the Status of Women, Ms. Khawar Mumtaz has been confirmed for appointment as its Chairperson during a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of the Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women, chaired by Ms. Tahmina Daultana MNA, on 05th October, 2016 at 02:30 p.m. in Parliament House, Islamabad.

2. The Agenda before the Committee was to hear and confirm the nominations received from the Prime Minister of Pakistan for appointment of Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women.

3. The Chairperson briefed the Committee with reference to nominations made by the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan in consultation with the Leader of the Opposition.

4. The Committee having discussed and considered the nominations, with consensus confirmed the name of Ms. Khawar Mumtaz for appointment as the Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women. The Committee decided that the name of Ms. Khawar Mumtaz may be forwarded to the Honourable Prime Minister for her appointment as the Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of
Women.
