NA Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat meets today

Islamabad; August 26th, 2016: Meeting of the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat held in Committee Room No. 7, Parliament House, Islamabad this Morning with Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNA in the chair. 

The Committee discussed The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad (Amendment) Bill, 2014 (moved by Maj.® Tahir Iqbal, MNA) and The National Conflict of Interest Bill, 2016 (moved by Murad Saeed, MNA) in detail and constituted a Sub-Committee headed by Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb, MNA to examine both the bills. The Sub-Committee would submit its report within two weeks of the meeting.

The Committee discussed The Unattended Orphans Rehabilitation and Welfare Bill, 2016 which was passed by the Senate and referred to the National Assembly (moved by Dr. Shazia Sobia, MNA).  After detailed discussion, the Committee unanimously recommended that the said bill as introduced in the National Assembly be passed.

The Committee expressed strong displeasure over the alleged gross corruption in supply of oxygen, nitrogen gas and theft of medicine from Poly Clinic. The Committee directed that Capital Administration & Development Authority may expedite the inquiry process in order to recover the amount from corrupt employees and report to the Committee in its next meeting.

The meeting was attended by Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, MNA Sardar Mansib Ali Dogar, MNA, Syed Javed Ali Shah, MNA Malik Ibrar Ahmad, MNA Mr. Asad Umar, MNA Ms. Marriyum Aurangzeb, MNA Ms. Parveen Masood Bhatti, MNA, Ms. Shehnaz Saleem, MNA, Ms. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, MNA, Moulvi Agha Muhammad, MNA, Dr. Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto, MNA, Ms. Farhana Qamar and movers Maj.® Tahir Iqbal, MNA Mr. Murad Saeed, MNA Dr. Shazia Sobia and Secretaries of Cabinet Division, CA&DD, and other senior officers of the concerned Ministries/departments.
