STANDING COMMITTEE ON SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY MET UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF CH. TARIQ BASHIR CHEEMA, MNA TO DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING AGENDA

I)  Confirmation of minutes of the meeting held on 19th July, 2016
II) Briefing on working and performance of Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC).

The Standing Committee on Science and Technology appreciated the efforts of Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) for performing in their respective fields despite the lack of available resources and shortage of staff however, they are competing with other International Accreditations and fulfilling all requirements according to International Standards. The Committee directed the ministry to fill all vacant posts of PNAC on urgent basis so that they could able to perform better and prepare themselves to achieve and maintain International credibility through peer evaluation which likely to be held in upcoming January and March, 2017.

The Committee also appreciated the efforts of the ministry for pursuing the case of employees of PSDW project of PCRWR as the case has been forwarded to Establishment Division with the proposal to adjust 158 incumbents against such posts. The Establishment & Finance Divisions have been endorsed the proposal of the ministry and sent it to the Prime Minister for its final approval.
