The NA Standing Committee On Planning, Development And Reform meets

Islamabad, the 6th June, 2016: The Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform met today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail, MNA.

The Committee directed the Chairman WAPDA to provide all the relevant documents of 7 cancelled contracts in the Mangla Dam Raising Project which cause Rs.6 billion loss to the national exchequer and the Committee will fix responsibility against the officers involved. The Committee also directed that funds for construction of Grid Station and transmission lines under electrification programme in District Chitral already inducted in the PSDP 2016-17, may immediately be released.

The Committee was informed that PC-I of construction of bridge on River Indus connecting Kallur Kot with D.I. Khan was in progress and it is expected that the work on this project will commence on December 2016. The Committee directed that all requisite formalities may be fulfilled to avoid delay in the project.
 
The Committee while acknowledging the importance of PIDE recommended that the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform may immediately finalize the PIDE Amendment Bill, 2010.

MNAs, Syed Muhammad Athar Hussain Shah Gillani, Mr. Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Mrs.Shamas-un-Nisa, Mr. Sher Akber Khan and Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din attended the meeting, besides officials of Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.
