First meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Panama Papers, etc. was held in the presence of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly and Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly. The Committee unanimously decided that the proceedings of the Committee shall be held in camera.

Copies of the letter of the Ministry of Law and Justice addressed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and proposed terms of reference prepared by the Government alongwith the reply of the Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan were circulated among the members. Copies of the proposed terms of reference of the joint opposition were also circulated among the members of the Committee. The Committee unanimously decided that both Government and Opposition may examine and consider the said terms of reference so that the terms of reference may be finalized with consensus during further meetings of Committee.

Senators Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan, Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Mr. Muhammad Ali Saif and Mr. Ilyas Ahmad Bilour, and Members of the National Assembly Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah and Ch. Tariq Bashir Cheema attended the meeting as members of the Committee. Mr. Zahid Hamid, Minister for Law and Justice also attended the meeting as ex-officio member of the Committee. The meeting was held on Wednesday, the 25^th May, 2016 in the Parliament House, Islamabad.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held on 26^th May, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Committee Room No. 5, Parliament House, Islamabad.
