Islamabad, the 12^th May, 2016: The Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform met today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail, MNA to consider the acquisition of Land (on lease etc) for Mangla Dam Raising Project (MRDP).

The Committee asked that the Secretary WAPDA, Chairman WAPDA and MD NESPAK must ensure their presence in the meeting which will held on 13-05-2016, otherwise Committee will take strict action against them.  It was informed to the Committee that there is seepage issue of Mangla Dam but it is not dangerous.    

The Committee directed that all related documents for the revised PC-I for Mangal Raising Project may be provided and along with approval of ECNAC. The Committee directed that the WAPDA must provide all documents regarding the cancellation of seven contracts of Mangla Raising Project.

MNAs, Ch.Jaffar Iqbal, Mr. Nadeem Abbas Rabaira, Dr. Asma Mamdot, Ms. Shaheen Shafiq, Mrs. Shamas-un-Nisa and Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din attended the meeting, besides officials of Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.
