Speaker Baluchistan Assembly Calls On Na Speaker

Islamabad April 15, 2016:  Speaker Baluchistan Assembly, Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House today.  The matters pertaining to legislative business, parliamentary affairs and democratization process in the country were discussed during the meeting.   

The Speaker congratulated Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani on her election as first ever woman Speaker of the Baluchistan Assembly. He was confident that under her sagacious leadership the Baluchistan Assembly would play a vibrant role in order to legislate for the welfare of the masses of the Province.  He said that mitigation of the sufferings of the people of Baluchistan was the top priority of the present democratic set up and substantial fund has been allocated for development and prosperity in the province. He stressed the need for closer liaison between the parliamentary institutions for strengthening democratic process in the country.  He assured all out support of National Assembly Secretariat and PIPS in the fields of research, legislations and training for capacity building of members and staff of Baluchistan Assembly.

The Speaker Baluchistan Assembly thanked the Speaker National Assembly for his kind remarks and agreed with the Speaker for closer cooperation between the legislatures of the country. She appreciated the steps taken by the Government for the development and peace in Baluchistan.  She congratulated the Speaker on establishment of a dedicated Secretariat in the Parliament House for achieving SDGs and the Solar Power Project initiative that enabled Pakistan Parliament as a first Parliament in the world to go green.  She also appreciated the training programs initiated at PIPS for capacity building of members and staff of the democratic institutions and expressed the hope that these trainings would be helpful for better legislation and strengthening of democratic institutions in the country.
