Islamabad, 29th January, 2016: A meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) met today in Parliament House, Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Jamal ud Din, MNA. The Acting Secretary M/o Finance briefed the Committee on the status of Rs. 100 billion package announced by the Federal Minister for Finance Revenue, Economic, Statistics and Privatization for rehabilitation of Temporarily Displaced Persons of FATA during budget speech for year 2015-16. He informed that the Government has allocated funds of Rs. 55 billion for rehabilitation of TDPs of FATA and Rs. 45 billion for security enhancement in FATA. The Committee also discussed the issue of rehabilitation of TDPs and showed great concern over the slow pace of work and urged the quarters concerned to expedite the rehabilitation process in FATA.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Muhammad Nazir Khan, Mr. Ghalib Khan. Begum Tahira Bukhari, Ms. Iffat Liaqat, Dr. Asma Mamdot, Mrs. Suriya Jatoi, Mr. Aftab Shaban Mirani, Mr. Qaiser Jamal, Ms. Ayesha Gulalai, Mr. Bilal Rehman, Mr. Bismillah Khan, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, Sheikh Fayyaz-ud-Din, Mian Shahid Hussain Khan Bhatti and Ms. Shazia Mubbashar MNAs and  Officers/Officials of the Ministry.
