NA Acting Speaker Visits Gilgit-Baltistan Condoles the Death of Mother of Chief Minister GB

Islamabad, October 02, 2015: Acting Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Chairman Standing Committee for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Malik Ibrar Ahmed visited Gilgit Baltistan and met Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman, today. Acting Speaker and Mr. Malik Ibrar Ahmed condoled the death of mother of Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan and expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise. They offered Fateha and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to bereaved family to bear the loss with patience and forbearance. The mother of CM Gilgit-Baltistan had died earlier this week due to heart attack.

Speaking to CM Gilgit-Baltistan, the Acting Speaker said that Mr. Hafeez ur Rehman is a hardworking, sincere and honest politician who enjoys confidence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that Almighty Allah has bestowed upon Gilgit-Baltistan with abundant natural resources and this region has great potential for tourism and exploitation of energy resources which can ensure development and prosperity to this region. He expressed his hope that Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman would lead Gilgit-Baltistan on its path of progress and development.

CM Gilgit-Baltistan expressed his gratitude to Acting Speaker and Mr. Malik and briefed them about his government’s endeavor in promoting tourism in the region where more than 500,000 people visited last year which is far more than previous years.
