The Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform met under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail at Conference Room of University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore to discuss the Projects of UET, Lahore and project of Development of Imminent Academic and Support Facilities at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology.
The Committee highly appreciated the performance of UET, Lahore for providing quality education to the masses however, directed the management of the UET may expand its network in smaller cities as well by establishing new campuses so that the students of the smaller cities could also be benefited.
 
The Committee expressed concern  over the unnecessary delay of completion of Strengthening of University of Engineering and Technology project, Lahore which was started in 2007-8 and directed that management of UET, Lahore may pursue the case with Higher Education Commission (HEC) for releases of remaining funds so that project could be complete without further delay.
 
The Committee discussed the performance of COMSATS, Lahore as well and directed that management of COMSTAS may ensure the timely completion of Development of Imminent Academic and Support Facilities at COMSATS, project, Lahore. Letter on the Committee visited the sites of both the projects to assess the physical volume of the project.
